In Imo state, the Nigerian Police Force detained a young man in his early twenties and presented him alongside other youths as an unknown gunmen. The young man’s relatives reported he was last seen after going out to get medicine for his sick mother after Sunday church.
Since the violence in Imo state began, Nigerian police have been arresting young people and calling them criminals whenever the state is attacked. This indicates that all of the boys identified by Nigerian police as Unknown Gunmen may be innocent.
Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo State, must accept responsibility for the crimes perpetrated on the people of Imo State.
