NNPC Director Deletes Facebook Post Cheering Taliban’s Reclamation Of Afghanistan

Muaz Magaji, the head of the Kano State Gas Pipeline Project Delivery and Gas Industrialisation Committee, has removed a Facebook post in which he celebrated the Taliban’s victory and control of Afghanistan.
Magaji is in charge of the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano Natural Gas Pipeline (AKKP), which is being managed by Nigerian Gas Company, a subsidiary of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
Taliban insurgents infiltrated Kabul on Sunday, seizing power and forcing President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani to flee the country.
On his official Facebook page, which has over 47,000 followers, the NNPC boss remarked, “It’s a win-win in Afghanistan today!” in response to the takeover news.
He did, however, delete the post after it received over 140 comments and 500 likes, as well as being shared by over 20 people.
Magaji was fired at first for celebrating the death of the late President’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, but was later reinstated in his current position.
