According to a source from the local health department, at least two people were killed and 12 others were injured after Taliban gunmen opened fire on protestors in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar region on Wednesday.
Another source informed Sputnik earlier in the day that the Taliban opened fire on protesters protesting in support of Afghanistan’s national flag. The province of Nangarhar is well-known for similar deeds.
Another 165 individuals were hurt, and local hospitals were overwhelmed by the number of victims. Although no group has claimed responsibility for the suicide attack in Nangarhar’s Momand Dara region, Islamic State terrorists are present in the province.
Two US troops and an Afghan soldier were killed and nine others were injured in an attack in Nangarhar province in February 2020.
