Davido Adeleke, a multi-award-winning Nigerian artist, says he got into a lot of difficulty during the #Endsars movement in Nigeria.
Remember that Davido was a leading figure in the anti-Sars movement that took place in October 2020? The artist took part in the Abuja demonstration and helped to free #EndSARS demonstrators who had been detained in the Federal Capital Territory.
Davido said in an interview with Trevor Noah on the Daily Show that he fled the nation due of his active engagement in the #ENcampaign.
“I got into trouble for supporting #Endsars, I had to leave Nigeria” – Davido reveals
“I got into a lot of trouble. I had to actually leave the country. It was that bad. I was reposting everything that had to do with the campaign. It was amazing to see people come out like that. And I will say this: they listened to us. They heard us. They might not have changed anything but they were shook,” He said.
