Emeka Ike, a Nollywood actor, has advocated for the release of Chiwetalu Agu, who was arrested by the Nigerian Army for allegedly seeking support for the banned Indigenous People of Biafra.
The actor appealed for the release of “victims of conscience,” including embattled IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu and Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Igboho, in a post on his official Instagram account.
He wrote, “Release all victims of cosnscience immediately. Your belief is you. Your ideology is you. Tyranny never pays. Dialogue is golden. Release Sunday Igboho, release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. immediately. The world is watching & history never forgets (sic).”
The detention of Agu sparked outrage as a video of him being hauled away by Nigerian Army soldiers went viral on social media.
