Tension hits as Oru-West magistrate court on fire

Unknown gunmen set fire to the Magistrate Court in Ubulu, Oru-West Local Government Area of Imo State.

A source told a DAILY POST correspondent that the attack was carried out on Monday by hoodlums using petrol bombs.

The fire, which started in the early hours of the morning, spread across the entire courthouse.

While confirming the incident, the Interim Management Committee chairman of Oru-west LGA in Imo State, Hon. Willie Okolieogwo, expressed his displeasure with the attack.

Despite the fact that the court was completely destroyed by the hoodlums, no casualties were reported, according to the council leader.

Despite the efforts made thus far by the administration of Imo State to curb criminal activities, Okolieogwo, who is also the chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, in Imo State, expressed surprise that the mysterious gunmen are still on the loose.

“Senator Hope Uzodinma’s government is not giving up on finding a long-term solution to the problem of insecurity in our state. “We have control of the situation,” he stated confidently.

According to another source who requested anonymity, the attackers arrived in considerable numbers to carry out the attack.
