On Sunday night, the Barawa community in Katsina State’s Batagarawa Local Government Area was thrown into chaos as bandits attacked the community in huge numbers, murdering four people and injuring several more.
Around 9 p.m., hoodlums assaulted the village, which is only 10 kilometers from Katsina metropolis, shooting intermittently into the air, according to a source.
“No one was kidnapped during the attack,” the source said, “but three men and an old woman were killed in the process.” They also seized their belongings from various shops and homes, as well as their goats and lambs.”
He also stated that those who were killed in the attack have since been buried, but that he would not be shocked if the number of deaths documented rises as a result of the attack’s serious injuries.
As a result, according to the source, security in the area has been ramped up, and the state government has stepped in with relief goods to ease the suffering of the people.
